Under Artistic Director Nigel Short, Tenebrae Consort is an ensemble of singers handpicked from the award-winning choir Tenebrae. An exceptional group of musicians, they highlight the vocal quality of the individuals who make up the trademark ‘Tenebrae’ sound but create an intimate experience.

Sun, Moon, Sea and Stars is an international collection of original works and arrangements by Bob Chilcott and some of his most talented colleagues from the choral world. This wide-ranging collection encompasses archetypal English folk song and new versions of French, Finnish and Japanese traditional melodies alongside classics from the Great American Songbook, all packaged in the richest of styles, scorings and moods. Enter a world of choral song in all its guises and be enchanted.

Jazz At The Movies is a collaboration of five superb jazz musicians dedicated to interpreting movie themes and songs both familiar and obscure. Their second album, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, covers films from the 1940s to the 1990s.

With a reputation for vibrant music, deep repertoire and droll presentation, JATM features vocals by acclaimed singer Joanna Eden with Mark Crooks (saxophone and clarinet), Chris Ingham (piano), Arnie Somogyi (bass) and George Double (drums).

Movie songs like these provide good material for the best jazz singers. Joanna Eden and her first-class band had a ball with them… and so did the audience.

An evening of glorious music with a distinctly English flavor. The heroic themes and romantic interludes of Elgar's expansive overture In the South opens the concert. Young Korean violinist Victoria Baek will perform the English premiere of an exciting new violin concerto by Naresh Sohal, composer of the acclaimed Cosmic Dance performed at the 2013 BBC Proms. Naresh constructs a sound world which is at once highly distinctive yet completely accessible. Victoria then takes wing in the idyllic and ever-popular Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams, whose Third Symphony concludes the programme.

Teddington Choral Society invite you to their performance of the thrilling and dramatic oratorio Elijah. Mendelssohn’s thrilling masterpiece uses Old Testament passages to produce intensely dramatic scenes such as the resurrection of a dead youth, the contest of the gods and sacrifice in a column of fire. The work will be sung in English with professional soloists and orchestra.
