A welcome return to the Landmark by one of the UK’s leading folk partnerships, who are also twice winners of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Duo (2016 & 2013). With careers spanning over 20 years of music making with the likes of Seth Lakeman, Cara Dillon, Levellers, Kate Rusby and Show of Hands, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman have consolidated themselves as pillars of modern British folk. Their intimacy and strength of passion on stage have won them many fans and an enviable reputation as ‘Songwriters par excellence’.

new We are pleased to announce local singer-songwriter Florence Glen will be support artist for this concert, performing a short set before Kathryn and Sean. Born in North Yorkshire and raised in Portugal and France, Florence’s wanderlust spirit and travelling roots strongly influence her music. Florence’s musical style has a folk/pop tilt, whilst retaining a contemporary edge. She is blessed with a rich soulful voice with a distinctive character and sings with a maturity beyond her years.

Teddington Choral Society invite you to their performance of the thrilling and dramatic oratorio Elijah. Mendelssohn’s thrilling masterpiece uses Old Testament passages to produce intensely dramatic scenes such as the resurrection of a dead youth, the contest of the gods and sacrifice in a column of fire. The work will be sung in English with professional soloists and orchestra.

Schumann’s beautiful cello concerto forms the centerpiece of Thames Philharmonia’s summer concert, celebrating the friendship of two great romantic composers: Schumann and Brahms. An atmospheric tone poem, The Enchanted Lake, by the Russian composer Liadov sets the scene, and the programme concludes with Brahms’ crowning masterpiece – his Fourth Symphony, which blends majestic pathos with moments of exuberant joy.
