12yrs+: Characters! Comics! Cartoons!

This course is perfect for young people aged 12-15 (11-year-olds can join too) who are passionate about drawing, cartoons, and anime. We’ll dive into everything they need to know about creating their own anime and cartoons using tools they likely already have at home!

Each term focuses on a different key skill:
Autumn term: Character design
Spring term: Writing comics
Summer term: Animation

Complete beginners or those with some experience will be able to develop their projects and learn something new.

Autumn Term
Character Design and Worldbuilding Learn to create believable fictional worlds and the characters that inhabit them.

Character Design: Understand the principles of creating unique and engaging characters. Learn about proportions, expressions, and poses.
Colour Theory: Explore how to use colour to bring characters to life and convey different moods and themes.
Composition: Study the basics of composition to create visually appealing artwork.
World Building: Develop the skills to create immersive and coherent fictional worlds for your characters.
Drawing Skills: Improve your basic drawing skills with targeted exercises and practice sessions.
