Botanical Arts: Painting & Drawing (3-day)

Open to all adults – some experience of painting would be helpful.
This 3-day course teaches techniques in watercolour painting and drawing, Botanical Art and Illustration. Flowers, foliage and plants are observed, and step-by-step demonstrations are included with an emphasis on accurate and realistic depiction. A selection of fresh and dried material will be available.
CORE SKILLS:
– Developing the skill of drawing accurately for Botanical painting
– Developing observational skills with an aim to render a realistic depiction
– Developing watercolour painting skills for Botanical Art
– Tonal contrasts and textures to create a 3D effect
– Composition and design to achieve a well-balanced result
Materials (required by the students)
Bring in whatever watercolours/brushes you already have – the tutor will be in touch prior to the course to discuss further details.
* Paper will be available for purchase from the tutor if required.
