Whether you’ve always wanted to write, but have never been sure where to start, or you’ve been writing and sharing your writing with others for a while, this course is for you! During each session students will be given a creative writing prompt and the following week will share their writing with others in a friendly and supportive environment. Students will also be encouraged to give constructive feedback to their fellow students, with an emphasis on positivity and enthusiasm, but with an eye to how the author might further improve their writing.
Alongside writing, we’ll also think about the craft of writing, considering areas such as setting, characterisation, dialogue, point of view, plot, pace and more. You don’t need any previous writing experience to join the course, just a passion for the written word and a willingness to share your writing with other.
- Writing for joy and with confidence
- Sharing your writing with other students
- Critiquing other students’ writing
- Learning the craft of writing and relating it to your own writing
