Gel Plate Monoprinting (Family Focussed)

Art Classes & Workshops

Date: 18 March 2023

Duration: 2 hrs

Start Time: 10am-12noon

This workshop will give both adults and kids an opportunity to learn the basics of geli plate printing. Using a geli plate as the surface for printmaking, rolling out layers of acrylic paint and printing textures pressed in to the paint, a number of prints can be created. Building up layers of detail using different colours and textures, the prints can take on a life of their own.

Using everyday materials such as cardboard, bubble wrap, string, leaves, feathers and tags, the technique allows for lots of imagination and experimentation. There will be a tutor demonstration, images and books as a starting point for printing, lots of making time and attentive tuition. The workshop will end with a chance to feedback and share creative achievements together.

Beginners welcome.
