Gel Plate Monoprinting
Art Classes & Workshops
Date: 18 March 2023
Duration: 2 hrs
Start Time: 1.00pm - 3pm
This workshop will give participants an opportunity to learn the basics of gel plate monoprinting. Using a gel plate as the surface for printmaking, rolling out layers of acrylic paint and printing textures pressed in to the paint, a number of prints can be created. Building up layers of detail using different colours and textures, the prints can take on a life of their own.
Participants will be using everyday materials such as cardboard, bubble wrap, string, leaves, feathers and tags, the technique allows for lots of imagination and experimentation. There will be a tutor demonstration, images and books as a starting point for printing, lots of making time and attentive tuition. The workshop will end with a chance to feedback and share creative achievements together.
Beginners welcome. (Please note: there is an earlier session on the same that is more Family-Focussed)
