Introduction to Botanical Art Painting (1-day)

This class is held in our art studio, situated on the first floor. Access to the studio is ONLY available via stairs. For more information about access, click here.

Open to all adults – no experience required. This taster workshop is an introduction to Botanical Art techniques and materials.

Flowers, foliage and plants are observed, and step-by-step demonstrations are included with an emphasis on accurate and realistic depiction. The workshop is designed for absolute beginners.

  • Developing the skill of drawing accurately for Botanical painting
  • Developing observational skills with an aim to render a realistic depiction
  • Tonal contrasts and textures to create a 3D effect
  • Composition and design to achieve a well-balanced result

Materials
All Materials will be provided for the workshop.

Tutor
Marcia Hughes is a renowned local artist and an experienced teacher.
