Introduction to Botanical Art (1-day)

Art Classes & Workshops

18 July: 10am-4pm

Open to all adults – no experience required.#

Flowers, foliage and plants are observed, and step-by-step demonstrations are included with an emphasis on accurate and realistic depiction. The workshop is designed for absolute beginners. Tutored by Marcia Hughes, a renowned local artist and an experienced teacher, this taster workshop is an introduction to Botanical Art techniques and materials.

Core Skills
– Developing the skill of drawing accurately for Botanical painting
– Developing observational skills with an aim to render a realistic depiction
– Tonal contrasts and textures to create a 3D effect
– Composition and design to achieve a well-balanced result

Materials
All Materials will be provided for the workshop.
