Introduction to Sun-printing: Cyanotype (1-day)

Open to all adults; no prior experience required.
Explore the original Victorian photographic process, over 150 years old, known for its distinctive Prussian blue colour: sun printing.
Learn the basic skills to create your own bespoke cyanotype sun prints using sunlight and an Ultra-Light Violet (UVL) Box. Discover a new and exciting photographic technique that you can utilize at home.
Leave with your unique prints from the course, and delve into toning and colouring using teas and other natural plant materials.
– Basic history linking to alternative photography
– Explore different techniques to develop your prints further
– You will also be able to explore toning and colouring of your prints using teas, and other natural plant materials.
Materials (required by the students)
Small folder to take your prints home
Notepad for taking class notes
Leaves and other items for making prints, such as ribbons, lace, and netting
