Opening the festival on the perfect note
Jo Harrop’s smoky, velvet voice sells out venues everywhere from Ronnie Scott’s to the Royal Albert Hall.
Effortlessly blending jazz, blues, soul and Americana, her intimate sound and timeless songwriting have won acclaim across the world. Iggy Pop was an early supporter, featuring her on BBC Radio 6 Music after a Guardian review caught his attention. She later joined Gregory Porter on a 13-date UK tour, including four nights at the Royal Albert Hall.
Her award-winning album When Winter Turns to Spring was named Album of the Year at the 2023 Parliamentary Jazz Awards, while The Path of a Tear, recorded in Los Angeles with producer Larry Klein, earned five-star reviews from the international press.
“Her voice is delicious. When she sings, she moves me… a superb and unimaginably good vocalist.” – Iggy Pop, BBC Radio 6 Music
This opening night concert places Jo and her band in the Landmark’s vast Gothic space, where the acoustics do all the work. No heavy engineering. No trickery. Just an extraordinary voice, in an unforgettable setting.
“From the start I wanted Jo Harrop. Soho audiences love her intimate, inviting sound. Jo’s voice and her timeless songs make her a headline act and perfect to open Ronnie Scott’s ‘Unplugged’ at the Landmark. I can’t wait to hear her sing in that magical space.” – James Pearson, Artistic Director, Ronnie Scott’s
