Lino printing: Single or Multiblock

Open to beginners and those who have some experience or previously attended lino printing course In this 6 week course you will learn the art of lino block printing and work at your own pace.
You can create either a single block colour print or explore multi-block lino-print. This will enable you to print in at least two or more colours. You will create a key lino block with your detail and the second block you will carve out to enable you to use colours in your prints. You will also learn how to create a registration board that will enable you to print successfully.
During the course you will also learn how to design, transfer your image to lino and then safely use lino cutting tools, the correct method for sharpening your tools, use of inks, and selection of papers.
This workshop is very practical and to help you get the most out of the session it is recommended you come with some simple ideas to help maximise your time. You will have 1-1 time with the tutor and there will be demonstrations to support you throughout.

Materials & Costs (provided to the students)
You will be provided with lino blocks for your first project. Any additional blocks you can buy from the tutor at a nominal charge. You will also be provided with Lino cutting tools, tracing paper, papers for printing and inks.
Do bring your own lino cutting tools if you have any.
Materials (required by the students)
You will need some ideas for simple designs.
Also, Graphite Pencils, Note book, Black sharpie, Ruler. Bring an apron as it can get messy. No open toed shoes as you are in a workshop with sharp tools.
