3-day course: Linocut Printmaking (without a press) [SAS22]
Art Classes & Workshops
Date: 2 August 2022 - Thu 4 August 2022
Start Time: 10.00am
Tues 2-Thurs 4 August, 10am-4pm
Jennie Ing is a local artist and an experienced tutor. She intends the course to be fun, concentrating on relief printmaking without a press, and exploring the whole creative process from generating ideas and experimenting with techniques and approaches through to producing a selection of finished linocut prints. Linocut is a fascinating and versatile technique involving the cutting away from the surface of a piece of lino, rolling ink over the remaining area and transferring the ink to paper using pressure. You will work with imagery gained from your choice of photographs, sketches, with a focus on a variety of subject matter. Skills will be developed through experimenting with mark making, working with positive and negative cutting, colour and “reduction block” print and understanding registration methods.
All are welcome: complete beginners and those with some knowledge will enjoy the course and find something new to take away.
