2-day course: Mixed Media Floral Painting [SAS22]

Tues 9-Thurs 10 August, 10am-4pm

An immersive two-day course, using mixed media techniques to celebrate summer’s blousy blooms and bouquets. We will be working from fresh cut flowers and drawings, painting, stretching paper, experimenting with inks, watercolour and stains, to loosen up before focusing on considered A3 artwork of stylized wild florals, enhanced by depth of light, shade and negative space practice.

MATERIALS LIST: 

All materials will be provided, but it would be useful to bring a notebook, pen, photo reference ideas, magazine, book, cut-outs, printed paper scrap, doodles, drawings etc.

TUTOR: 

Artist and designer Nicolene Grigg studied fashion and Textiles at Chelsea Art school. Her own creative journey has taken many different paths, originally as a knitwear designer for Whistles, high end freelance textile designer, mosaic artist, creative tutor and facilitator. Throughout her career she has always used mixed media techniques, collage and experimental work to create her artworks and help form her ideas for a particular piece or design.
