Printmaking: Creative Woodcut

Open to all adults – no experience required.
Woodcut is a relief process in which knives and other tools are used to carve a design into the surface of a wooden block. In this course, you will learn the basic techniques of woodcut printmaking and understand how to create pieces using this oldest form of printmaking. The course will also introduce master works of woodcut.
By the end of the course, you will be able to use the appropriate printmaking tools to create your own unique prints with woodcut art materials.
• Understand the history of woodcut printmaking
• Understand the process of woodcut printmaking: carving an image , rolling ink onto a surface block of wood, and taking an impression or print.
• Learn to create a piece of printmaking
Materials & Costs (provided to the students)
All art material provided such as Carving Tools, Soft Pencil, tray, brayer , ink, woodblock and Tracing paper , Sponges, Rags, Carbon Paper etc.
