Recording our Yesterdays : Where were you on May 12th?
Art Classes & Workshops
ONE-OFF: 13 May 1-3.30pm
Duration: 2,5 hours
Open to all adults – no experience required.
In 1937, the Mass Observation movement called for people to record everything they did from when they woke up in the morning to when they went to sleep at night on 12th May, the day of George VI’s Coronation. The results provide a wonderful glimpse into the everyday lives of people across Britain.
Join us on 13th May as we respond to the MO’s annual call for day diaries. We’ll peek at some of the archive material gathered; explore ways we can capture time and finally write down our yesterdays.
No writing experience is needed. Suitable for all ages. Materials and inspiration provided.
