Classics by Candlelight – Silverscreen Songbook

Icon Strings is formed of prize-winning graduates of the leading London and International Conservatoires with busy global performing careers. Icon Strings combines the highest level of musicianship with a touch of glamour, and their themed programmes aim to convey the beauty of music through energetic and heartfelt performances.

Passionate about bringing a wide variety of genres to as broad an audience as possible they have held a residency performing quartet concerts at Home House London, and are currently on their fourth season of hugely successful candlelight concerts at the Actor’s Church in Covent Garden, in association with the West End ticketing app TodayTix. They are busy making their mark on the London concert scene, with performances at renowned venues such as Union Chapel, St Giles-in-the-Fields, the Royal Automobile Club, and Armourers Hall. Other diverse collaborations include concerts for Alborz Fitness, the Ashdown Forest Foundation (including sell-out concerts of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and The Snowman live with narrator), and the Landmark Arts Centre. This has included a special performance underneath Luke Jerram’s iconic Gaia Earth project, which saw the quartet exploring works by Max Richter and Terry Riley (amongst others) alongside their exclusive Bridgerton-style quartet arrangements.

The members of Icon Strings are individually making their mark on the UK and International music scene. They have played at many renowned venues throughout the UK and abroad, such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Wigmore Hall, Beijing Bird’s Nest Stadium, and Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Live broadcasts include BBC Radio 3’s In Tune and Late Junction, the BBC Proms, and Podium Witteman (Holland) to name just a few. Alongside this, the musicians are much sought after as session players, and can be heard on numerous albums and soundtracks including Downton Abbey, Beverley Knight, Little Simz, Blue Planet, and The Matrix.

The concert will showcase a diverse range of iconic film music, including pieces from “The Greatest Showman,” “Gladiator,” “The Godfather,” “Star Wars,” “Chicago,” “Mamma Mia,” “Les Miserables,” “Evita,” and “The Lion King.” The night will also feature a Disney medley, bringing to life the melodies of “Tangled,” “Tarzan,” and “Hercules.”
