Open to all adults – no experience required.

This course offers you the opportunity to observe, connect with nature, and create your own visual representations of the world around you. The power of observation is crucial, and taking the time to truly see enables you to capture the essence of what surrounds you.

We’ll spend the day exploring the banks of the River Thames, just a short walk from the Landmark Arts Centre. The landscape offers a diverse range of scenery, from tree-lined stretches to wildflowers and wildlife, providing ample inspiration for observation and sketching.

At Teddington Lock, where we’ll stop for lunch, you’ll find benches, tables, and bathroom facilities. Please bring a packed lunch, and feel free to grab a coffee or tea from the nearby café.

Remember to bring sunscreen and a hat for warm weather, and a jacket in case of cooler temperatures. (We’ll only move indoors if the weather is inclement.)

During the course, you’ll:
– Create a series of quick sketches to enhance your hand-eye coordination.
– Explore composition using a viewfinder to develop your ideas.
– Develop longer sketches.
– Experiment with watercolour sketches
