U18: Comic Book Art (10yrs+)

Open to all young people (from 10yrs onwards) – no experience required.

Discover different forms of illustration and expand the practice of drawing by trying new ways of working with pen/pencil and paper. In this course we will visit the well-known comics (Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, etc) explore character design and story telling to create a one-page comic strip that would include elements of story writing and how to convey that through imagery. All materials provided.

Week 1: Story-telling through comic book art (develop ideas for Characters)
Week 2: Character Design
Week 3: Design the comic
Week 4: Inking Artwork to produce final Comic Strip

Materials (included in the price)
Illustration Kit including dual tip black marker pen, 24 dual tip coloured marker pen pack, thick sheet of A3 paper

Please bring your own: PENCILS, COLOURING PENCILS, PENS, SKETCH BOOKS, ERASERS, PENCIL SHARPENERS
