Ukulele Zero to Ukulele Hero

ONE-OFF: Wed 5 June, 7-9.30pm
Open to all adults – No musical experience required.
In this 2 hour session we will start off learning the basics ie how to hold the ukulele, how is it tuned, what is a chord etc and we will build our uke knowledge to learn a number of songs taking us from Uke Zero to Uke Hero!
The London Ukulele Project is a not for profit organisation that uses the ukulele to bring people together to build communities, end loneliness and promote wellbeing. Founded in Ham, by Tara Maysey in 2019.

- A Little history of the ukulele
- How to hold the ukulele? How to tune the ukulele?
- What is Melody? What is a chord?
- How to build a song when playing on your own vs as an ensemble
- Performance from tutor
- Group performance of our greatest hit learnt on the night
Materials
Ukuleles can be provided. If you’re bringing your own ukulele and you’re unsure about tuning please arrive a little earlier so that the tutor can help tune up before the lesson starts. Handouts will be given for people to take with them to practice and continue their learning at home if they wish.
