Wellbeing: Beginners’ Bookmaking (Spr23)

Everyone welcome, no experience required.
Learn how to make a selection of small notebooks using a combination of folding, sticking and sewing – nothing too complicated & definitely suited to the absolute beginner. Each week we will work on a different book structure.
TUTOR: Gill Smith
STRUCTURE
Week 1: How to fold & manipulate paper for bookmaking using specialist bookmaking tools. Making a simple folded notebook (no sticking or sewing). Making a 16 page pamphlet with laminated covers
Week 2: Making a double section pamphlet with integrated cover & optional pocket
Week 3: Making a simple stab binding notebook
Week 4: Making a concertina book with hard cover
