Wellbeing: Papercraft (Spr23)

Art Classes & Workshops

Date: 20 February 2023 - Mon 13 March 2023

Duration: 2 hours

Start Time: 7pm

This course is open to all. Each week we will explore a different aspect of crafting with paper.

STRUCTURE

Week 1: Papercutting

This session will provide an introduction to different papercutting techniques with tips on how to
design your own papercuts. After some simple practice exercises, participants will be able to
choose from a selection of templates to make an interesting cut paper artwork.

Week 2 Card making

Iris folding is a simple (but addictive!) technique using strips of folded patterned & coloured
papers to form intriguing designs within a card aperture. Participants will be able to choose from
a selection of templates to make two greetings cards.

Week 3 Paper flowers

In this session participants will make some simple crepe paper flowers.

Week 4 Gift boxes & bags

Participants will learn how to make gift bags and gift boxes from decorative paper / wrapping
paper.

MATERIALS LIST

All materials will be provided. Tools are available for use during the session. However, if
participants have a favourite scalpel they should bring this along (with a fresh blade).
