Looking to try something new this autumn? Take a journey into the world of art essentials with our foundation course at the Landmark Arts Centre. This course allows you to try out art, where you’ll dive into a variety of making activities.

You’ll move through focused and inspiring weekly introductions to key art techniques – from drawing basics to colour mixing to printmaking and creating compositions. You’ll get to experiment with new materials, build some core skills and gain the courage to keep creating.

Course Breakdown

Week 1: Drawing Basics: Shape, Tone and Composition

Week 2: Abstract Still Life: Colour and Form

Week 3: Colour Charting: Mixing and Harmony

Week 4: Printmaking Techniques: Accessible and Fun!

Week 5: Watercolour and Pattern: Free Expression

Week 6: Final Composition: Bring It All Together

Who This Course Is For

For anyone who wants to explore art for the first time – or if you’d like to refresh what you’ve learned in the past – this course is for you. Ideal for beginners, no experience or prior knowledge is required.

This course is a welcoming stepping stone that may lead you to other visual arts courses at the Landmark Arts Centre requiring more experience.
