Make a unique wooden decoration that’s full of character and perfect as a handmade gift.

Workshop Time: 10:00am-1:00pm

This special Easter workshop celebrates the joy of simple, mindful craftsmanship and offers a calm, screen-free way to slow down and make something playful and personal. You’ll shape natural wood into a charming Easter bunny, creating a unique decorative piece that reflects time, care and creativity.

Starting with a lime wood blank, you’ll carve an Easter bunny in just a few hours using nothing but a knife. You’ll explore character-building techniques to shape ears, facial features and form. Guided step by step by our expert tutor, you’ll develop essential knife skills and learn to work safely and confidently with wood.

You’ll leave the workshop with a beautifully finished wooden bunny – a distinctive Easter decoration or a thoughtful handmade gift, full of character and charm.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to create a relief carving using soft lime wood
  • Confident, safe knife work
  • Techniques for adding character and detail

Green Woodcarving Workshop Series

You may wish to take another workshop in our welcoming series taking place in Spring 2026. Other upcoming workshops include:

Across the series, you’ll discover the satisfaction of shaping fresh, living wood by hand using simple tools and low-impact processes. Green woodcarving has deep roots in the UK, from rural spoon carving and tool-making to decorative architectural details. Before industrial machinery, it was a practical, everyday skill, valued for its responsiveness, strength and minimal waste.

Each workshop builds confidence and technique, helping you learn to read the grain, use tools safely and understand how wood behaves as it dries. Together, the series offers a rewarding pathway into traditional British woodcraft and sustainable making.
