Discover the vibrant world of Iznik ceramics in our immersive 2-day workshop, designed for adults of all levels. No prior experience necessary!

Delve into the rich history and significance of Iznik ceramics, exploring their intricate motifs and traditional techniques.

In the morning sessions, dive into the origins of Iznik ceramics, mastering basic tile painting techniques and gaining insight into the materials and tools essential for your creative journey. After a rejuvenating lunch break, unleash your creativity as you experiment with colours and design, painting your own unique patterns onto ceramic tiles.

Day two takes your skills to the next level, focusing on plate painting and the principles of design in Iznik ceramics. Learn how to transfer intricate patterns onto plates and discover the art of glazing and firing for that perfect finish. Share your creations in a supportive environment, receiving valuable feedback to further refine your craft. Join us for a captivating exploration of Iznik ceramics, where you’ll unlock the secrets of this ancient art form while honing your skills on both flat and curved surfaces.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, this workshop promises to ignite your passion for ceramic artistry.

  • Understanding Ceramic Medium
  • Working on flat ceramic surface
  • Working on curvy ceramic surface
  • Understanding underglaze painting using traditional ceramic paints
  • Learning different outlining techniques using fine brushes

Materials (provided to the students)
Ceramic tile and plate, Iznik ceramic paints, Brushes, Tracing paper and carbon paper, etc.
Student do not need to bring anything and the costs of glazing and firing are included.
