Lino Printing: Christmas Cards and Gift Tags

Create festive prints to share with family and friends. Open to all adults with little or no experience, with complimentary free access to the Sparkle Art Fair at the Landmark Arts Centre.

Workshop Time: 10 am – 1 pm

Celebrate the season with a hands-on festive printmaking session. In this practical and accessible workshop, you’ll design, carve and print your own Christmas card and gift tag designs using traditional lino printing techniques on the table-top press. Whether you’re new to printmaking or returning to a favourite craft, you’ll leave with hand-printed cards, envelopes and plenty of holiday cheer.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

• How to design a festive motif for your card
• Transferring your design
• Carving your lino block
• Printing in colour (red, green or black)
• Finishing cards with tags and envelopes

Who’s this workshop for?

Open to adults aged 18+ of all experience levels. Ideal for beginners, creatives looking for a seasonal project, or anyone who enjoys making handmade gifts.

You will have 1-1 support from the tutor, and throughout the workshop, there will be demonstrations to guide you.

Materials and preparation:


To make the most of your time, please come with a few simple festive ideas in mind (like stars, holly, trees or lettering).

What’s included: cards to print on, tools to use, Lino black to carve your print, tracing paper, and inks.

Please bring: 

• An old apron or shirt as you will be using inks
• Sketchbook of ideas that you may wish to transfer into print
• Sharpie Pen – Black
• Hobby knife or craft knife
• Cutting mat (A4 size recommended)
• Ruler
• Graphite pencil including 6B

Please also wear covered shoes when in the workshop, as we will be using sharp tools.
