LOKI and Nordic Myths in Shadow Puppet Theatre (family)
Art Classes & Workshops
ONE-OFF: Sun 26 Nov, 11am-1pm
Book PlaceShadow puppet making workshop for 5-11 year olds and their grown ups.
This fun and educational course is inspired by Nordic Mythology, and in particular by the book ‘Gospel of Loki’ by Joanne Harris.
We will focus on choosing some characters from the book and turning them into shadow theatre puppets. The children will, with the help of their parents or carers, learn how to make a shadow puppet with movable joints and how to create a shadow puppet theatre by using simple screen and light.
By the end of the course the participants will be able to manipulate their finished puppet, create a short improvisation on the screen while learning few tricks about puppets’ interaction and use of light. They will have a clear idea how to make simple screen at home too, and have some more fun with the puppets they made.
