Club Overview
Lunchtime Singing Club is a relaxed, informal choir open to anyone who wants to sing! Ideal for those exploring their voice, joining a choir for the first time, or returning after a break, this club offers a friendly environment for making music together.

Each session includes a warm-up focused on physical alignment, breath control, and vocal range. Participants will learn rounds, where groups create harmony by singing the same tune at different times, and songs with multiple harmony parts. There’s a challenge level to suit everyone and plenty of laughter along the way. At the end of term, we’ll work towards an informal performance.

No auditions or music-reading skills required—just come ready to jump in! Sheet music and lyrics will be provided, but all parts will also be taught by ear.

Level

• Beginner (some basic knowledge)
• Intermediate (some experience)

Learning and Participation Content

• Physical warm-up and breath/vocal exercises
• Learning rounds and simple songs together, focusing on pitch and rhythm
• Harmony work, holding your line, listening, and engaging with the group

Tutor Bio:

Martha Littlehales is a freelance conductor, pianist, singer and music educator working across London and the West Midlands. Her practice spans classical ensembles, community and youth choirs, and musical theatre, with a strong focus on accessible and engaging music-making for people of all ages and backgrounds.

A graduate of the University of Birmingham with a First Class BMus degree, Martha has led and supported musical projects across schools, arts organisations, community choirs and outreach settings, including St Martin-in-the-Fields, Southwark Music Service, the Royal School of Church Music and Beating Time at HMP Stafford. Through her workshops and teaching, she creates welcoming and high-energy environments that encourage confidence, collaboration and creative expression through music.
