Mindscapes is a fast, experimental workshop that blends drawing, collage, mask‑making and playful performance. Across two sessions, participants move from rapid gesture and portrait studies into building simple wearable masks, exploring character, movement and staging. The atmosphere is energetic and exploratory – a creative lab where drawing jumps off the page and into performance, storytelling and image‑making.
Using mixed media, mono‑print textures and accessible phone‑based editing, learners create a small body of work that includes sketches, a wearable mask and a staged photographic image or short sequence. Suitable for adults of all levels, especially those curious about pushing drawing into new territories.
Materials Required:
Sketchbook or A3 Pad
Pencil set (HB – 6B)
Kneaded eraser
Glue Stick
Scissors
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for practical art-making, or bring an apron to protect your clothes.
Tutor Bio:
Federico Gallo (MA, Royal College of Art) is a London-based artist whose work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts and the Saatchi Gallery. Moving fluidly across drawing, painting, collage and mixed-media experimentation, his practice fuses repetition, gesture and found imagery into visually charged works that interrogate identity, self-perception and the tensions of contemporary life.
His workshops are immersive creative laboratories – high-energy spaces where art, design and performance collide. Through rapid experimentation, instinctive making and collaborative exploration, participants are encouraged to break conventions, unlock new visual languages and push ideas beyond their expected limits. Federico’s approach is bold, dynamic and deeply process-driven, grounded in the belief that material play and creative risk-taking can transform the way we think, create and see the world.
