Start Time: 11:30am
Age Rating: 16+
Book PlaceAn art class for adults with local artist Louise Anderson. Explore and experiment using your recycled wire cables to create your own simple sculptured artwork. ‘Working with Wire Sculpture’ takes inspiration from the current exhibition of large-scale photography by Greg Segal whose work was first seen at COP26 in Glasgow 2021. This workshop is part of Trash to Treasure Fest a community arts festival promoting the Recycle your Electricals campaign. You will use discarded cabling, learn how to transform stripped back wires, use tools to manipulate the wire, into different shapes and forms and thereby saving discarded electrical cables from landfill. You will be supported throughout the session whilst you create your very own piece of contemporary art. Participants are encouraged to bring along a simple image or idea that they might have as a starting point to the session. Learn to translate your idea into a simple 2D drawing and form a 3D sculpture. No previous experience is necessary. Booking essential.
