Explore storytelling through making in this workshop combining zine creation with narrative illustration. Participants will develop short-form stories using image, text or both, drawing inspiration from comics, books and film. Through a series of practical exercises, you will experiment with composition, character and sequencing, creating one-page zines as a starting point for larger projects. The workshop encourages an iterative approach, focusing on making and refining ideas rather than perfection.
Suitable for beginners and beyond, this session offers a practical and accessible introduction to visual storytelling.

Tutor Bio:
Olu Oke is a London-based storyteller, illustrator, printmaker and educator whose work explores character, narrative and lived experience through image-making and print. Working across illustration, zine-making and print processes including lino cutting and letterpress, her practice is shaped by a love of storytelling and the expressive possibilities of drawing by hand. Alongside her creative practice, Olu facilitates workshops that encourage experimentation, play and personal expression through making. Her work is informed by her experience as a children’s librarian and by a commitment to creating stories and creative spaces where people feel represented and connected. Through teaching, she encourages participants to explore visual storytelling, character and narrative in accessible and supportive ways.
