Frontier Sapiens Adventure Film Festival

Coming to the Landmark for the first time ever, the UK’s largest open-air adventure film festival is heading indoors for a cosy autumn screening in Teddington.

The Frontier Sapiens Adventure Film Festival brings together an awe-inspiring collection of short films from some of the world’s best filmmakers. Join us for an evening of epic adventures, inspiring personal stories and environmental issues from around the world, all introduced by the festival team.

This year’s programme features six short films:

• The Land Remembers – Journey to Kenya’s Maasai Mara, where one family is transforming their farmland through rewilding and community-led conservation.
• Annika – Where She Lands – Follow Nordic combined skier Annika Malacinski as she fights for gender equality and a place for women in her sport at the Winter Olympics.
• Sand Dancers – Meet quadriplegic daredevil Jimmy Simpson as he sets out to become a champion surfer on the north-east coast of England, defying expectations along the way.
• The Bride of Mont Blanc – Join adventurer Elise Wortley as she attempts to recreate a pioneering 1838 female ascent of Mont Blanc, using only the clothing and equipment available at the time.
• Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage – An uplifting story of 85-year-old Susan Baur and a fearless group of women proving that age is no barrier to adventure or environmental activism.
• The Detectorists – Head to the Welsh countryside to meet an unlikely wildlife conservation team helping to track one of Britain’s most elusive protected species.
