Join us this Valentine’s Day for a unique evening of live music, dance and listening pleasure as the UK’s leading tango ensemble, Tango Siempre, presents their brand-new 2025-26 project Tango Century. Whether you’re on the floor or in the comfort of our newly seated auditorium, you’ll experience the rich contrasts of tango: sorrow and celebration, movement and stillness, heritage and reinvention.

What to expect

Tango has always been an art of tension and transformation. From its enigmatic origins in the early 20th century to the present day, it has moved through decades of social change, musical innovation and dance-floor ritual. In Tango Century, Tango Siempre trace that journey – from the daring septets and classic vocal tango of the 1920s, through the golden age rhythms, to the jazz-, folk- and classical inflected styles of the 2020s. Drawing on over 25 years of touring and performance across the UK and Europe, they bring both tradition and bold new work to the fore.

For dancers: A full-sized dance floor invites you to move, groove and connect with the music in a social, elegant setting.
For listeners: Comfortable new seating offers an excellent view of the stage and superb acoustics in our historic venue – sit back and let the music speak.
