Book Place

Open to all adults, no experience required. All materials included.

This taster workshop will introduce you to the relaxing and rewarding pastime of pointed pen calligraphy. You will learn to master the tools and will try your hand at forming the basic strokes which make up the individual letterforms. By the end of the class you will be confidently writing words and you will take home a guide book and materials to enable you to carry on practising on your own. As with all things, the more you practice the better you will get!

  • The lesson will begin with an explanation of the tools you have been given.
  • Followed by a demonstration
  • You will practice the basic strokes which make up each individual letter
  • You will then work your way through the alphabet
  • Before learning how to join the letters together to create words.
  • Throughout the class I will be giving you individual attention with plenty of tips and advice.

Calligraphy should be very relaxing and mindful, so take the opportunity to forget every day worries and absorb yourself in this creative pastime.
