The Landmark Doors Start To Reopen!

Posted: Monday 20 July 2020 at 5pm

When we closed in March due to the COVID-19 emergency, our future looked bleak. Thanks to the wonderful support from our community, both locally and further afield, we have raised enough money in donations to get us through to October 31st when the employee furlough scheme will end.

Also as lockdown restrictions continue to be eased, we are delighted to be able to reopen on August 1st, albeit in a limited way.

During August our Summer Art School will take place plus we will be supporting local artists by mounting our first Landmark Art Salon – a timed entry exhibition. More information about both these events can be found below.

However despite the Government announcement on Friday 17th July that live performances will be allowed from August 1st, it is still far from business as usual for the Landmark. Under current social distancing regulations, live performances will be difficult financially for us as our 329 seating capacity is reduced to a mere 54 seats. We also cannot hold our art fairs or other large events.

We still await details of the Government £1.5 billion support package for the arts and if we are eligible then of course we will apply, but so will almost every theatre, music venue, museum and gallery in England.

So we still need your help to keep the Landmark alive. If you are able to, then please…

Thank you
– Martin Nicholds, Chairman of the Trustees

Coronavirus & The Landmark

Posted: Tuesday, 17 March 2020

In the light of the Government’s announcement yesterday, the Landmark has decided that we should play our part in fighting the spread of the virus by suspending our activities until further notice. We are seeking to re-arrange as many events and classes as we can for a later date and will publish updates on our website and via social media.

Our team will be contacting affected patrons as quickly as possible, but it will take us time to do so. Please bear with us.

The Landmark is an unsubsidised charity and this unprecedented situation will have a significant financial impact on us. We need your support now more than ever. If you are able to donate £5 please text LACL01 to 70970.

We look forward to welcoming you back at a later date. In the meantime, thank you for your support and understanding at this difficult time. We hope you and your loved ones stay healthy.
