Book PlaceLunchtime Singing Club is a relaxed and informal choir, open to anyone who wants to sing! Particularly aimed at those who want to explore their voices, participate in a choir for the first time or after a break, and who would like to meet other local people while taking part in a musical activity together. While not a specific parent and baby choir, parents with young babies are welcome to bring the little ones along.
What does it involve?
Each session will involve a fun warm up that gets you moving and thinking about physical alignment, learning to breathe well and exploring your vocal range. We’ll often learn a round too, where we all learn the same tune together then create harmony by starting the tune at different times in smaller groups. And we’ll learn some songs with several harmony parts. There’ll be a level of challenge to suit each individual and plenty of laughter along the way.
Do I need to audition or read music?
There are no auditions, and no previous singing experience or music reading ability is required to join. Sheet music or lyrics will be provided for some pieces but parts will always be taught by ear during the sessions too.
Who is the tutor?
The choir is run by Eleanor Rastall, who also runs ManSong Choir and the FUNdamental Singing classes at the Landmark Arts Centre, as well as other choirs, workshops and events around London. You can find out more about her here – www.eleanorrastall.co.uk
